I ride my Trek almost everyday after coming home from work for fun and exercise. I often ride with my girlfriend who bought the bike for me because she already had a Trek Pure and she felt it would be fun for us to ride together, she was right. The only thing I can find that isnt perfect about my Verve 2 is the front sprocket change is a bit clunky and not as precise as the rear gear changes, but not enough to be a problem. I call my Trek the Grey Ghost because of its color and its quiet operation.

          Comments:

I had stopped riding bicycles for almost 18 years and decided that it would be a good idea to start over again. A friend had said that TREK were very good bike and I should have a look at it. The bike was exactly what I was looking for. After a winter to think it over I finally committed to buying the TREK bike. What a wonderful surprise to see that I and the bike fit each other. In no time I was back 18 years as if I had never left the bike world. Thank you TREK for such a wonderful bike. Keep up the good work.

          Comments:

I've had this bike for about a year, and use it daily as my commuting bike for a 16 mile round trip commute in Washington DC. I also use it for 30-50 mile rides on the weekends. The pros: This is a very comfortable bike with a smooth ride. Accessories mount easily--I have a back rack, rear and front lights, water bottle holder, kickstand and a small front bag attached to mine. The bike is easy to handle and maneuver, and is stable--a big plus in city traffic. The tires are also good in rainy weather, and are durable. There's also a wide range of gears, which helps for hills. The suspension fork also allows for some fun riding off of the pavement that a road bike couldn't handle, such as crushed limestone or dirt trails. The cons: This bike is heavy and slow (my road biking friend called it a "tank"). Don't expect to average much above 13-14 MPH, even on an empty trail. This is partly because the upright position of this bike makes you a giant wind balloon, and also due to the weight of the bike. The shocks do not have a lockout feature, which can make hilly city riding less enjoyable, even with the wide range of gears. Overall I like this bike for commuting and weekend rides, but I wouldn't recommend it to someone who likes to ride fast.

          Comments:

I never have owned a nice quality bike like a Trek I did my research and saved my money and bought my Verve2 and absolutely love it. Other than the tires being a little weak in the tread category, this bike has performed flawlessly. I get excited each and every time I jump on the seat and start a new riding adventure.

Purchased to ride for exercise after not riding a bike for 20+ years. Fell in love with it on the ride home from the Bike Shop. Quickly moved from 3 mile rides to 14 mile rides as once I get out I don't want the ride to end. Very satisfied with the bike. I do wish that you could lock out the front shock. Going up steep hills the front shock is not an asset. It is a nice thing to have on bumpy asphalt streets.

I have not riden for quite a few years and decided to get back into cycling. I used to ride a road bike but decided that was too uncomfortable at my age. The Verve 2 is exactly what I was looking for. The suspension fork and the upright riding position make this a very comfortable ride.
